Texas Precious Metals Tax Information



In the state of Texas, there is no sales tax on the purchase of most precious metals, including gold, silver, platinum bullion, and numismatic coins. However, there are a few exceptions:


Taxable Products in Texas

 

  • Palladium Bullion Products.
  • Platinum and Palladium Bullion Coin.
  • Certain Currency.
  • Certain Copper Products.
  • Accessory Items.
  • Processed Items.

These exceptions mean that if you purchase these specific items in Texas, you may be subject to sales tax. For all other precious metals, there is no sales tax.
